Chapter 10, Opening night for the Pajamas Band. August 26, 2006

We turned on the lights. We tuned our guitars. We tapped on the microphones and said, "Check one, two, three, four, Check one, two, Check" into them. We got our giant floppy cowboy hats ready. We got into our Pajamas. We opened the doors. And they came. All of them came, just to see us.
It was The First Public Apearance of The Pajamas Band, and Man!, was it a show! We gave a discount to anyone wearing Pajamas, and they did! You should have seen it. You would have thought that an apartment building had a false fire alarm in the middle of the night, and when the people gathered outside, they all decided to go see a band instead of go back to sleep. Okay, maybe you wouldn'd have thought that exactly that way, but you probably would wonder why a big crowd of people are dancing in their pajamas!
Besides the silky pajamas, Al got us all hosptial scrubs. He had The Pajamas Band logo pressed onto the shirts. They look really cool. We look like a mental ward on the stage. What a hoot!
Dad had a black sportcoat that he wore when we did our Johnny Cash songs. We all had on these giant cowboy hats.

Real men wear chicken heads.
